On January 9, 2024 – The Doctoral Program (S3) in Multicultural Islamic Education held an open dissertation defense for two students: Ahmad Hafidz Lubis and Lina Agustina. The examination was held on the 3rd floor of Ali Bin Abi Thalib Building, in the Postgraduate Building.
Ahmad Hafidz Lubis presented his dissertation titled “Actualizing Multicultural Islamic Education Through the Mainstreaming of Religious Moderation in the Senduro Community.”

This research employed a qualitative ethnographic approach and was analyzed using the iceberg and U-shaped methods.
The second defense was attended by Lina Agustina, who presented her dissertation titled “The Internalization of Multicultural Islamic Religious Education in Local Culture (An Ethnographic Study at the Islamic University of Malang).”


This lecturer from IAI Syarifuddin Lumajang and IAI At-Tanwir was examined by Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si (Chair), Prof. H. M. Mas’ud Said, MM. (Secretary), Prof. Dr. Imam Suprayogo, Prof. Nur Syam, Prof. Junaidi, M.Pd., Ph.D., Prof. Dr. Yakub Cikusin, M.Si (Supervisor), and Prof. Djunaidi Ghony (Co-Supervisor).
Ahmad Hafidz Lubis was declared to have passed with the grade of Very Satisfactory, while Lina Agustina was declared to have passed with the grade of Satisfactory. Both are entitled to use the title of Doctor upon the issuance of the Graduation Decree. (AL/PPS)
