The Multicultural Islamic Education (PAI) Ph.D Program graduates its 100th and 101st doctorates on Monday, August 5, 2024. The two new doctors are Indhra Mustofa, M.Pd., a lecturer at the Faculty of Islamic Studies at UNISMA, and Sismanto, S.Pd., M.Pd., the head of PCNU Kutai Timur Regency.
The first defense was conducted by Indhra Mustofa, M.Pd., with a dissertation titled “Internalizing the Vaue of of Multicultural Islamic Education in Forming Tolerant Character Through the Independent Curriculum at State Junior High School 2 Buduran Sidoarjo.”
This Head of the Bureau of Cooperation and Academics was examined by a panel of examiners, including Prof. Junaidi Mistar, M.Pd., Ph.D., as the chair and co-promoter, Prof. M. Mas’ud Said, M.M., Ph.D., Prof. Dr. Imam Suprayogo, Prof. Dr. Nur Syam, Dr. Syamsu Madyan, Lc., M.A., Prof. Djunaidi Ghony, and Prof. Dr. Maskuri, M.Si, who also served as the promoter.

The second defense was conducted by Sismanto, S.Pd., M.Pd., with a dissertation titled “Values of Multicultural Islamic Education in the Culture of Elementary Schools at Yayasan Pendidikan Prima Swarga Bara Sangatta, Kutai Timur Regency.”
Prof. Yaqub Cikusin, M.Si., also served as Sismanto’s promoter and examiner, replacing Dr. Syamsu Madyan, Lc., M.A. from the previous session. The rest of the examining panel remained the same.

Sismanto was initially planned to be examined by international examiners. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the examiners from Turkey and Malaysia could not participate. His ability to write in book chapters and journals indexed by Scopus showcases his reading and language skills.
Meanwhile, Indhra Mustofa is set to publish his work in an international Scopus-indexed proceeding in October.
Both Indhra Mustofa and Sismanto graduated with honors. As the 100th and 101st graduates, they are now entitled to hold the title of doctor after the Yudisium.
