Malang, February 1, 2024 – The Postgraduate Program at Universitas Islam Malang (UNISMA) and the Al Karimiyah Islamic Institute (IAI) in Depok, West Java, have established a partnership to foster academic development. This collaboration was initiated during a visit by a delegation from IAI’s Master’s Program in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) to UNISMA’s Postgraduate Program.
The delegation, led by IAI Rector Dr. H. A. Fatih Ghozali, MM, and accompanied by Vice Rector I, Acep Muwahid Muhammadi, the Head of PAI Master’s Program, Dr. Syahril, and several faculty members, visited UNISMA’s Postgraduate Program with the aim of strengthening inter-institutional synergy. During the meeting, IAI Postgraduate School representatives initiated various forms of cooperation, with the hope that collaborative activities can be implemented soon.
One of the initiatives proposed includes joint classes, guest lectures, and joint research. These activities are expected to be conducted both in-person and online, thereby providing flexibility in their implementation.

UNISMA’s Postgraduate Program welcomed this cooperation initiative positively. The Director of UNISMA’s Postgraduate Program directly opened the door for both institutions to collaborate in various fields, particularly in academic contexts such as teaching, research, and community service.

UNISMA Postgraduate Program and the IAI Al Karimiyah Depok Postgraduate Program have established a partnership to foster academic development.
This collaboration between the two parties is expected to serve as a catalyst for academic development and progress, in line with the expectations of each institution. This partnership is also expected to open doors for the exchange of knowledge and experience among academics and strengthen both institutions’ positions as they navigate the evolving landscape of science and technology.
Through this collaboration, it is also hoped that new innovations will emerge in the field of Islamic higher education in Indonesia, while simultaneously making a positive contribution to improving the quality and relevance of Islamic religious education in society.
