The day before Indonesia’s 77th Independence Day, specifically on August 16, 2022, the atmosphere at Unisma’s Postgraduate Program was not like usual. On that morning, Indonesia’s Independence Day Morning Assembly had just been held on the campus grounds of
Universitas Islam Malang Although this morning assembly has only been held for two consecutive years since last year and seems set to become a routine activity for Unisma’s Postgraduate Program annually, the entire Unisma Postgraduate staff, dressed in special 77th Independence Day uniforms, still carried out the morning assembly with great enthusiasm and cheerful faces, starting precisely at 8:30 a.m.
77th Independence Day Morning Assembly was attended by campus leaders of Universitas Islam Malang, such as Unisma Rector, Prof. H. Maskuri, M.Si, who also served as the Assembly Inspector; Vice Rector 1, Prof. Drs. H. Djunaidi Mistar, M.Pd., Ph.D; Vice Rector 2, Noor Shodiq Askandar, SE., MM; Vice Rector 4, Dr. Ir. Hj. Istirochah Pujiwati, M.P.; Director of Unisma Postgraduate Program, Prof. H.M. Mas’ud Said, MM., Ph.D.; Heads of Study Programs; and Unisma Postgraduate staff. Morning assembly activities began by singing the national anthem “Indonesia Raya,” “Mars Syubbanul Wathan,” and “Sholawat Nuril Anwar.”
This was followed by remarks from Prof. Mas’ud, Director of Postgraduate Programs. In his remarks, he stated that Postgraduate Program has always worked hard and strived to follow the Rector’s guidance.

“Here, we would like to convey that Unisma’s Postgraduate Program is currently undertaking many activities in accordance with the Rector’s directives, such as research projects, services, and progress within the postgraduate program; program visits to various regions for new student recruitment; the recent accreditation of three postgraduate study programs; and the establishment of ‘Home’ as a platform to showcase many of Unisma lecturers’ works.” Prof. Mas’ud explained.
The member of the Expert Council on Public Administration for East Java Province also noted the critical importance of providing a platform for faculty members’ works within the Unisma Graduate School, as he observed that while there is a substantial volume of scholarly output, it currently lacks an appropriate venue. “It is truly regrettable that over 600 scholarly works by faculty members remain without a proper showcase, if not provided with a home,” elaborated Prof. Mas’ud.

In his remarks, the Rector of Unisma spoke about 4G spirit from the stage of the Ceremony Inspector with great enthusiasm, in a firm and loud voice.
“The first is ‘Greget,’ meaning we must give totality in our work and service. The second is ‘Gesit,’ meaning we must not only work accurately but also quickly. The third is ‘Genit,’ meaning that the postgraduate program must be able to capture attention externally, and the last is ‘Goal,’ meaning it must serve as the destination for students’ academic pursuits and act as a brand ambassador so that Unisma can become a progressive campus (Go International).” Said Prof. Maskuri.
He also hopes that, despite Usima’s postgraduate program being no longer new, it will continue to grow and begin celebrating its anniversary annually.
