Unisma Postgraduate Program Establishes Strategic Partnership with Al-Azhar University’s Observatory Unit in Egypt.

Unisma’s postgraduate program has established a strategic partnership with the Observatory Unit at Al-Azhar University in Egypt. This strategic partnership was initiated domestically by two institutions: Universitas Islam Malang (Unisma) and the KH. Abdul Chalim Institute, through the establishment of a deradicalization research center and a multicultural studies center. The deradicalization research center and the multicultural studies center subsequently collaborated with the Al-Azhar Observatory in Egypt.

This strategic partnership is aimed at fulfilling the mandate outlined in Preamble of the 1945 Constitution to foster world peace and social justice. This strategic alliance also serves as a national effort to strengthen the unity of Indonesia and its diversity, promoting Moderate Islam (Islam Washatiyah) and a distinctive and robust Multicultural Islamic Education in Indonesia.

Egypt is known as one of the countries with the oldest civilizations in the world. The Land of the Nile also boasts a long history of human civilization, comparable to the Yellow River Valley in China, the Indian civilization, the Mesopotamian civilization, Ancient Greek civilization, and the Maya civilization in South America, among others.

Egypt is inextricably linked to discussions about the Nile River, one of the longest rivers in the world; the legendary tales of the Pharaohs; and the stories of the Sphinx and the pyramids, which still hold various unsolved mysteries to this day (AAFR/AL/PSJ).
