Universitas Islam Malang has appointed a distinguished professor in the field of inclusive education, Prof. Dr. Drs. Luluk Sri Agus Praseyoningsih, M.Pd. The inauguration ceremony for this lecturer in the Master’s Program in Indonesian Language Education was held at Gusdur Hall, 7th floor of Ali bin Abi Tholib Building.
Bunda Luluk, as the students call her, has been a lecturer at LLDIKTI Region 7 since 1991. Prof. Luluk has served at Unisma since 1990 and has held positions ranging from department head to dean and head of Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM).

Prof. Luluk delivered her inaugural lecture titled “Innovations in Learning and Assistive Technology for Students with Special Needs (MBK) in the Field of Language Education: A Theoretical and Empirical Study.”
Inclusive education is a necessity given the diversity of Indonesian society in terms of ethnicity, religion, and characteristics. Religious values and the law mandate inclusive education for people with disabilities.

Prof. H. Maskuri, M.Si, expressed his joy at this professorial inauguration. The Professor of Islamic Religious Education acknowledged receiving guidance from Prof. Luluk when she served as Head of Unisma Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM).
Prof. Maskuri, M.Si, expressed great appreciation for her contributions to the academic field of inclusive education. The Rector of Unisma stated that support for students with special needs has been implemented at Unisma, backed by existing facilities.
Prof. Dr. Dyah Sawitri, SE., MM was also present and offered her congratulations on Prof. Luluk’s appointment as a full professor. The Head of LLDIKTI Region 7 discussed opportunities for applying for full professor and senior lecturer positions. The Rector of Gajayana University hopes this opportunity will be utilized to the fullest.
Dr. Mochtar Data, M.Pd, as secretary of the board of trustees, was entrusted by Prof. Tholchah Hasan to leverage the potential of full professors at Unisma. May this achievement by the professor in the field of Indonesian language and literature education serve as a strength for Unisma’s future. (AL/PPS)
