The Doctoral Program in Multicultural Islamic Education (PAI) held a dissertation defense for doctoral candidates Syamsul Bahri, S.Pd., M.A., and KH. Marzuki Mustamar, M.Ag.

Syamsul Bahri’s dissertation focuses on multicultural education at Taman Harapan Elementary School and Budi Mulia Elementary School. These two elementary schools have a diverse student body in terms of ethnicity and religion.

According to the researcher, teachers at Taman Harapan Elementary School and Bina Budi Mulia Elementary School employ a multicultural learning approach to help students live harmoniously with peers of different ethnicities and religions.

The panel of professors examining Syamsul Bahri’s dissertation included: Prof. Djunaidi Ghony as the supervisor, Dr. Hasan Busri as the supervisor, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri as chair of the panel, assisted by Prof. M. Mas’ud Said, MM., Ph.D., as secretary of the panel. Other examiners included Prof. Dr. Yakib Cikusin, Prof. Dr. Abdul Haris, M.A., and Prof. Dr. Ali Maschan Moesa, M.Si., Rector of Kadiri Islamic University.
