Prof. Mas’ud with the East Java Governor and the British Honorary Consul.
Prof. Mas’ud is no stranger to this strategic partnership network. In August 2023, he was part of a delegation that visited King’s College London in the United Kingdom, strengthening education diplomacy and laying the groundwork for collaboration now being implemented in Indonesia, particularly within the Singosari Special Economic Zone (KEK).
Beyond engagement with the United Kingdom, Prof. Mas’ud has also played an active role in expanding strategic cooperation across the Muslim world. Together with the East Java Provincial Government, UNISMA Malang and Universitas Abdul Chalim, he has been involved in collaborative initiatives with the Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism in Cairo, Egypt. The initiative aims to promote moderate religious literacy and educational diplomacy rooted in the values of Islam as rahmatan lil ‘alamin (a mercy to all creation).
The scholarship briefing is expected to mark the initial phase of the LPDP – King’s College program’s implementation, which is projected to significantly enhance the quality of Indonesia’s human resources, particularly among top graduates from pesantren, PTKIN and Islamic-based higher education institutions in East Java.
