MoU and Cooperation Agreement Signed – IAI Al-Khairat Pamekasan has formalised an academic partnership with Universitas Islam Malang through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), a Cooperation Agreement (PKS), and immediate implementation collaboration in the form of a national seminar. The full series of activities was carried out sequentially on the same day, Wednesday, 30 July 2025.
The first agenda saw the MoU signed by the Rector of UNISMA and the Rector of IAI Al-Khairat, with both delegations warmly welcomed at the Umar bin Khattab Building, sixth floor. Cooperation Agreement was signed by postgraduate Directors of the two institutions, while the partnership implementation took the form of a National Seminar jointly organised by the Master’s Program in Islamic Religious Education (MPAI) of UNISMA and IAI Al-Khairat.
In his remarks prior to the signing ceremony, Vice Director I Dr Moh Afifulloh, M.Pd, warmly welcomed the visit and collaboration, stating that both institutions were committed to sharing their respective strengths and shortcomings.

“Once the MoU is signed, there are no secrets between us. We will openly share our strengths, as well as our limitations,” he stressed.
The Rector of IAI Al-Khairat, Dr Ali Ridho, M.Si, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception, stated, “We are thankful for the opportunity to learn here. Moreover, we are delighted to be able to contribute as speakers in this national seminar,” he added.
The program then continued with the National Seminar as the concrete implementation of the partnership. Carrying the overarching theme Islamic Religious Education Based on Local Wisdom and Digital Transformation, the seminar featured lecturers and postgraduate students from both institutions as speakers. UNISMA was represented by Dr Dian Mohammad Hakim, M.Pd, Head of the MPAI Study Program and MHKI UNISMA, while IAI Al-Khairat was represented by Dr Achmad Sayyi, M.Pd. Postgraduate students who served as speakers included Nanang Qosim from UNISMA’s Islamic Education program, as well as Moh Saedi and Masrufah from IAI Al-Khairat.
Each lecturer and student shared research findings and field experiences. Dr Dian Mohammad Hakim presented his research conducted at Ngalah Islamic boarding school, while Dr Achmad Sayyi, M.Pd.I, outlined the results of a Ministry of Religious Affairs-funded study on child-friendly pesantren environments free from bullying.

Nanang Qosim discussed the integration of Islamic Religious Education with ecological piety among UNISMA students. Moh Saedi presented a similar theme, focusing on environmental awareness in Islamic boarding schools in Madura, while Masrufah delivered a presentation on related issues.
It is hoped that this collaborative synergy from the signing of agreements to their practical implementation will bring lasting benefits to both institutions.
