The Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama Association (PP ISNU) for the 2025–2030 term has been officially inaugurated. The leadership, chaired by Kamaruddin Amin, was formally endorsed through the attachment of PBNU Decree No. 3761/PB.01/A.II.01.35/99/03/2025, which was read out directly by Rais Aam of Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU), KH Miftachul Akhyar, alongside the Katib Aam, KH Ahmad Said Asrori.
The Director of UNISMA Postgraduate Program, Prof. M. Mas’ud Said, M.M., Ph.D., has been appointed as Vice Chairperson. This strategic mandate reflects Prof. Mas’ud’s track record and achievements during his leadership of ISNU East Java from 2018 to 2023, which continues until 2028.

Mandate of the Rais Aam of PBNU to ISNU
During the inauguration, KH Miftachul Akhyar emphasized that the Nahdlatul Ulama Scholars Association (ISNU) serves as the strategic “Dapur” of NU in formulating and refining major ideas for the benefit of ummah and the future of organization.
“ISNU is the kitchen of Nahdlatul Ulama, a place to prepare, refine, and design everything for NU’s future. And today, that responsibility rests on the shoulders of ISNU’s leaders,” said KH Miftachul Akhyar during the inauguration of the PP ISNU at Hotel Bidakara, Jakarta, on Thursday (31 July 2025).
He also expressed appreciation for the ISNU leadership, noting that it is filled with highly competent intellectual figures. In a light-hearted remark, the Rais Aam addressed misconceptions about the professoriate. “This is not just a joke—these are real, genuine professors. May they carry out their duties to the best of their abilities,” he said.
On the same occasion, KH Miftachul Akhyar led the recitation of the baiat (pledge of allegiance) as a form of moral and spiritual commitment by ISNU officials. He stressed that the baiat is not merely ceremonial, but a meaningful pledge of intellectual struggle.
“This baiat is a spiritual initiation—a commitment by individuals who are truly ready to struggle. It is also a form of spiritual reinforcement to strengthen resolve in carrying out programs,” he explained. The pledge includes commitments to uphold Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution, adhere to the creed of Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah, comply with NU’s statutes, and devote oneself fully to the welfare of the ummah, the nation, and the state.
“Do not underestimate this baiat. Although symbolic, it legally affirms you as legitimate ISNU leaders. May Allah grant you strength and enthusiasm to move forward and provide enlightenment,” he concluded.
