Universitas Islam Malang (Unisma) continues to expand its network of international cooperation with various universities abroad. Most recently, the Director of Unisma’s Postgraduate Program, Prof. M. Masud Said, MM., Ph.D., joined a delegation led by the Rector of Unisma, the Vice Rector, and several deans to visit several universities in Malaysia to strengthen cooperative ties.
During the visit to Malaysia, Prof. Masud and the delegation established partnerships with three universities: Universiti Teknologi MARA (UITM) Mara, University of Science and Management (USM), and Universiti Sains Malaysia in Penang. The aim of this collaboration is to strengthen ties between the universities and mutually enrich academic knowledge and experience.

Previously, the Rector of Unisma and his delegation had established collaborations with several universities and businesses in Taiwan and South Korea over a period of approximately 7 days. Some of the institutions visited included St. John’s University in Taiwan, PCI NU in Taiwan and South Korea, Korea University, Busan University, and others.
In addition, Prof. Masud also made an official visit to Al-Azhar, specifically meeting with the Director of the Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism (AOCE) in early January 2023. God willing, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Unisma and Al-Azhar will be signed in the near future, which is expected to further enrich the knowledge and experience of both Unisma students and faculty.
All these efforts are undertaken to strengthen Unisma’s collaboration as one of Indonesia’s leading universities capable of competing at the international level and continuing to contribute to improving the quality of education and research in Indonesia.
