They provided comprehensive guidance on developing effective and innovative learning media for students with special needs, as well as procedures for securing intellectual property protection.

In her presentation, Nabilah emphasized the importance of adapting learning media to students’ specific needs, particularly in mathematics education. “It is essential to ensure that learning media truly address students’ unique characteristics so mathematical concepts can be effectively understood,” she explained.

She added that intellectual property protection enables educational innovations to deliver long-term benefits. “By protecting these works through IPR, we not only create innovation but also ensure their sustainability and broader impact,” she said.

Meanwhile, Ummi highlighted the significance of intellectual property awareness within the education sector. “IPR provides legal protection for educational innovators. As a result, their works are not only safeguarded but also formally recognized,” she noted.

Participants expressed that the program greatly enhanced their understanding of intellectual property in education. They also felt more motivated to develop original and impactful learning media, particularly for students with special needs.

One participant, Qasthiyah, shared her impression of the program. “This activity gave us a clear understanding of the IPR registration process and the importance of innovation in education. It helps us protect our work while expanding its benefits through legal recognition,” she said.

The mentoring initiative is expected to foster creativity and innovation among UNISMA undergraduate students in developing inclusive and meaningful learning media. Furthermore, the program ensures that students’ innovations receive proper legal protection, marking an important first step toward sustained academic contribution and educational advancement.
