UNISMA Postgraduate Director Speaks at East Java 2025–2045 Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPD) Forum

Malang, 22 October 2024 – Prof. H. M. Mas’ud Said, MM., Ph.D., Director of Postgraduate Program at Universitas Islam Malang, served as a keynote speaker at the public consultation and dissemination forum for East Java’s 2025–2045 Regional Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPD).

The event was held at Hotel Aria Gajayana, Malang, and attended by representatives of the East Java Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) as well as Bappeda officials from municipalities and regencies under the Malang Regional Coordination Agency (Bakorwil).

Bakorwil Malang oversees nine administrative areas: Malang City, Malang Regency, Batu City, Pasuruan City, Pasuruan Regency, Blitar Regency, Blitar City, Sidoarjo Regency, and Surabaya City.

Prof. Mas’ud Said explained that East Java has set a long-term vision of becoming “a Moral, Advanced, Globally Competitive, and Sustainable East Java,” aligned with the national development agenda.

“To realize this vision, eight strategic missions have been formulated as our development targets through 2045,” he stated.

The RPJPD missions include:

  • Advancing social transformation to strengthen high-quality human resources

  • Promoting sustainable regional economic transformation

  • Establishing clean governance and innovative public services

  • Ensuring regional security resilience, substantive democracy, and macroeconomic stability

  • Strengthening socio-cultural and ecological resilience

  • Reinforcing regional development to create new economic growth centers and equitable distribution

  • Expanding quality and environmentally friendly infrastructure

  • Ensuring long-term development sustainability

In addition to Prof. Mas’ud Said, other speakers included East Java Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) member H. Ahmad Tamim, S.H.I., M.H.I.; Yordan M. Batara Goa, ST., M.Si.; and Acting Head of East Java Bappeda, Ir. Muhammad Yasin, M.Si.

They outlined strategic perspectives and policy directions in shaping the province’s long-term development framework. The inclusive and sustainable development roadmap is designed to guide East Java’s progress over the next two decades.

The forum aimed to provide comprehensive understanding of both national and provincial development priorities.
