Malang, May 23, 2023 – Universitas Ma’arif Lampung (UMALA) and Islam Malang University (Unisma) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in an effort to strengthen collaboration and improve the quality of education.
This agreement is expected to pave the way for closer cooperation between the two institutions, as well as improve students’ learning experiences and academic development.
The MOU signing took place on the 7th floor of Ali bin Tholib Building, attended by leaders and representatives from both universities. Unisma Rector, Prof. Dr. Maskuri, M.Si., and UMALA Leader, Dr. Mispani, M.Pd.I, officially sealed this agreement with a commitment to continue mutually beneficial and sustainable cooperation.

The MOU outlines several key points serving as the foundation for cooperation between UMALA and Unisma. These points include:
- Research: Both institutions agreed to share knowledge, experience, and conduct joint research in the fields of education, science and technology, and institutional development. To enrich the insights and understanding of faculty and students at both institutions, seminars, workshops, and scientific conferences will also be held.
- Education: Students will have the opportunity to participate in educational programs at partner institutions, thereby developing cross-cultural skills, knowledge, and experience.
- Community service: Both universities will conduct joint activities such as seminars and workshops. The aim of these activities is to promote research and educational outcomes to the broader public.

Unisma Rector, Prof. Dr. Maskuri, M.Si, stated that this MOU is a crucial step in strengthening cooperation between Unisma and UMALA. “We hope this collaboration will bring significant benefits to both institutions and produce high-quality graduates ready to face future challenges,” he said.
UMALA leadership also expressed enthusiasm for this partnership. Through this MOU, we hope to learn more about campus development in terms of academics, spatial planning, infrastructure development, student affairs, and alumni relations. (AL/PPS)
