Surabaya, May 29, 2023 – Faculty and students from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) in Malaysia visited East Java to study Innovative Governance. The delegation was led by Professor M. Mas’ud Said, a professor at Unisma Malang and also the Director of postgraduate programs.
As part of the academic collaboration between Unisma Malang and UiTM Malaysia, the Director of Postgraduate Program invited the delegation of faculty and students from the neighboring country to visit the Office of Investment and One-Stop Service (DPM-PTSP) and the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) at the office complex on Jl. Pahlawan 110, Surabaya, Monday, May 29, 2023.
Accompanied by 20 undergraduate students from the Faculty of Administrative Sciences and the Master’s Program in Administrative Sciences, the delegation was led by the Dean of FIA, Dr. Rini Rahayu Kurniati, M.Si., Deputy Director 1 Dr. Nur Fajar Arif, M.Pd., and Deputy Director 2 of Postgraduate Program Dr. Rulam Achmadi, M.Pd. two UiTM lecturers, Dr. Fajil Abd Batau and Mohd Faiz, were received by two agency heads, Dr. Dyah Wahyu Ermawati, and the Head of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD), Aries Mukiyono.
The delegation was led by Unisma professor and Director of Postgraduate Program, Prof. M. Mas’ud Said, a senior professor who, the day before, had delivered a joint international lecture titled “Bureaucratic Reform in Indonesia” to students from both campuses.
Two faculty members from one of the largest universities were deeply impressed by the bureaucratic reforms and the robust management information system, as well as the service transformation through a “single submission” system at the East Java Provincial Government, led by East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa.
This visit is expected to broaden the knowledge of UiTM Malaysia faculty and students regarding the innovative governance implemented in East Java. Additionally, academic collaboration between Unisma Malang and UiTM Malaysia is expected to grow stronger through the exchange of experiences and knowledge in the fields of administration and government governance.
