Postgraduate Director Speaks at 2020 Millennial Festival

Prof. M. Mas’ud Said, PhD, Director of the Postgraduate Program, delivered remarks at the 2020 Millennial Festival Seminar, themed “East Java’s Economic Recovery Strategy in the Pandemic Era.” The event, held via Zoom Virtual Meeting on December 15, 2020, was organized by East Java’s Provincial Government Regional Coordination Body (Bakorwil) Bojonegoro.

The seminar drew Bojonegoro Regent Dr. Hj. Anna Muawanah, Mojokerto Mayor Hj. Puspitasari, SE, along with academics and stakeholders from the economic sector.

The discussion was moderated by Dias Satria, SE., M.App.Ec., PhD, a lecturer at Universitas Brawijaya Malang, who explained that the Millennial Festival program has been held several times before, typically in person prior to the pandemic.

Prof. Mas’ud Said outlined East Java’s current governance landscape, noting that regional development innovation now operates on a territorial basis, effectively reviving Bakorwil as the Governor’s extended arm into local districts.

Presidential policy flows down through relevant ministries and agencies, with governors and provincial governments then executing the resulting plans. In East Java, this has translated into concrete steps, including the formation of a coordinated network to support the province’s development synergy.

Prof. Mas’ud Said also expressed appreciation for recent data updates on the economic conditions in East Java and Indonesia more broadly, noting that such data provides a valuable foundation for shaping the province’s future development.
