Malang, April 11, 2019 – Postgraduate Programl of Universitas Islam Malang (UNISMA) received a courtesy visit from one of its postgraduate Law alumni, Imawan Masyhuri, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Media Network, on Thursday.
The alumnus, who is active in Indonesia’s national media industry, was welcomed by the Head of the Law Study Program, along with the Postgraduate program Director, vice directors, the Head of the Notary Studies Program, and the Head of the Doctoral Program in Multicultural Islamic Education.
During the meeting, participants held in-depth discussions on the role of modern mass media and social media in the current digital era. The discussion highlighted the importance of adapting academic communication to contemporary media platforms.
Masyhuri and Prof. M. Masud Said, a senior academic at UNISMA, are long-time colleagues who share a common vision to initiate an integrated collaboration between the Postgraduate program and Media Network.
The discussion was followed by plans to formalise the cooperation through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on media partnership. Under the proposed agreement, postgraduate lecturers will be given opportunities to disseminate their ideas and academic perspectives to the public through radio, television and online media at both local and regional levels.
The initiative reflects UNISMA’s commitment to strengthening alumni relations and expanding the public engagement of its academic community through strategic media partnerships.
