(10/07) The Director of unisma’s Postgraduate Program, Prof. M. Mas’ud Said, MM., Ph.D., delivered an inspirational lecture to the Al-Khidmah Congregation and new students at Universitas Islam Malang. The event was held at the Al-Asy’ari Round Building of UNISMA, which served as a witness to the inspiration and valuable advice from Prof. Mas’ud Said.
In his lecture, Prof. Mas’ud Said shared an inspiring story about his life journey. He recalled moments from 26 years ago when he had the precious opportunity to attend a lecture by KH. Ahmad Asrori Al-Ishaqi in Kepanjen, Malang.
He is one of the leading religious scholars who had a significant impact on Prof. Mas’ud Said’s life journey. KH. Ahmad Asrori Al-Ishaqi was a great figure whose noble character illuminated the hearts of his students.
A Message from the Director of Postgraduate Programs to Students
Prof. Mas’ud Said also offered advice to new students on how to become noble and beneficial scholars. There are four essential requirements that must be followed:
First, Strong Spiritual Discipline: Prof. Mas’ud Said emphasized the importance of maintaining strength in worship and spirituality. Inner spiritual discipline must be the primary foundation for one to achieve success in various aspects of life.
Second, Academic Excellence: According to him, students must be committed to shaping global civilization through education. Academic excellence will help them become highly competitive agents of change, supported by international cooperation, which is essential for addressing global challenges.

Third, Strong Professionalism: Strong professionalism is the key to success in work, study, and organizational life. Students are encouraged to cultivate the values of integrity and dedication in every aspect of their lives.
Fourth, Associating with Good Role Models: Prof. Mas’ud Said encouraged students to actively participate in the Al-Khidmah Council. In this council, they can learn from various exemplary figures, including scholars and professionals, who will guide them toward greater success.
