A Packed Agenda: UNISMA Postgraduate Program Hosts Three Institutional Visits and Partnership Signings

Tuesday, 10 March 2020. The Postgraduate Program (PPS) of Universitas Islam Malang (UNISMA) faced a packed schedule today, hosting three consecutive institutional visits from the Ma’arif Education Institute (LPM) of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Banyuwangi, Pesantren Rakyat Batu, and East Java Provincial Livestock Office.

The first agenda item was a visit from LPM NU Banyuwangi, held as a follow-up to a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) previously agreed upon between LPM NU East Java and UNISMA’s Rector, concerning human resource development within the LPM NU Banyuwangi institutional environment.

The meeting culminated in the signing of a formal cooperation agreement between LPM NU Banyuwangi and UNISMA’s Postgraduate Programme, signed by LPM NU Banyuwangi Chairman Zaki Al Mubarok, S.PdI., M.Si., and UNISMA Postgraduate Director Prof. M. Mas’ud Said, MM., Ph.D.

The visit from Pesantren Rakyat of Batu City centred on discussions regarding research and development of the apple, he city’s signature fruit. To accelerate progress on this initiative, UNISMA Postgraduate Director directed the Pesantren Rakyat delegation to coordinate directly with UNISMA’s Faculty of Agriculture.

Rounding off an already full day, the visit from the East Java Provincial Livestock Office was convened to finalise the agenda for UNISMA’s Postgraduate Program’s scheduled visit to the Livestock Office the following day, 11 March. (NB/AL/PPS)
