Unisma Postgraduate Program’s Master’s in Indonesian Language Education, in partnership with Unisma’s Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), hosted an International Conference over two days, from November 26 to 27, 2021.
International speakers featured at the conference included Prof. Nancy K. Florida from University of Michigan, U.S.A., specializing in Javanese and Islamic Studies, Performance, History, Indonesia, and Literature; Prof. Dr. Arndt Graf from Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, an expert in Malay Indonesian Language; Mr. Bobur Samigov from Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, Uzbekistan, specializing in Indonesian Language; Prof. Habib Zarbaliyev from Azerbaijan University of Languages, focusing on Indonesian Studies; and Prof. Ben Arps from Leiden University, an expert in Indonesian and Javanese Language and Culture.
Domestic presenters included Dr. Luluk Sri Agus Prasetyoningsih, M.Pd, specializing in inclusive psychopragmatics; Dr. Hasan Busri, M.Pd, focusing on traditional semiotics; and Dr. Nur Fajar Arief, M.Pd, specializing in multicultural learning design.
Additional presenters included Dr. Sri Wahyuni, M.Pd, specializing in assessment and multimedia; Dr. Dyah Werdiningsih, M.Pd, focusing on innovative learning models; and Dr. Akhmad Tabrani, M.Pd, specializing in contemporary Indonesian archipelago literature, all representing Universitas Islam Malang.

The conference also featured a national speaker, Dr. Muhamad Rohmadi, M.Hum, from Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta, Chairman of Indonesia’s Association of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Lecturers (ADOBSI).
The event proceeded successfully and drew considerable appreciation, reflected in enthusiastic comments on FKIP Unisma’s YouTube channel during the live broadcast. (AL/PPS)
