Strategic Discussion Explores “Strengthening Pancasila Ideology and Deradicalization”

On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, East Java Association of Nahdlatul Ulama Scholars (ISNU) held a Strategic Discussion themed “Strengthening Pancasila Ideology and Deradicalization,” in partnership with Indonesia’s Agency for Pancasila Ideology Development (BPIP), Ministry of Religious Affairs, and Unisma’s Postgraduate Program.

Held in the East Java Studies Center room, third floor of Unisma’s Postgraduate Building, the event took a hybrid format, welcoming both in person and online participation.

Opening remarks were delivered by ISNU East Java Chairman Prof. H. M. Mas’ud Said, MM., PhD, who also serves as Unisma’s Postgraduate Director, followed by remarks from Unisma Rector Prof. Maskuri, M.Si. East Java’s Regional Nahdlatul Ulama Board (PWNU) Chairman KH. Marzuki Mustamar delivered additional guidance virtually via Zoom.

Featured speakers included BPIP Chairman Prof. KH. Yudian Wahyudi, MA., PhD; Director of Basic Education and Islamic Boarding Schools at Ministry of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Waryono, MA; and BPIP Steering Committee Special Staff Romo Benny Susetyo.

The ideology-strengthening event also drew participation from East Java’s broader Nahdlatul Ulama community attending in person, alongside members of the general public and students joining online via Zoom.
