Malang, (November 4) Universitas Islam Malang (UNISMA) hosted a visit from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and initiated a strategic partnership in the field of Islamic research and academic development. The visit was led by Dr. Mohd Khoiry bin Kamarudin and Dr. Muhammad Talhah bin Jima’ain, lecturers from the Academy of Islamic Civilization.
In his remarks, Prof. Masud expressed his delight and hope that this partnership will lead to productive contributions to international research and publications. “We appreciate UTM’s requirement that its students publish two reputable international scientific articles. Meanwhile, we currently only require one publication.”
The Rector of Unisma, Prof. Junaidi, M.Pd., Ph.D., hopes this collaboration will enhance the reputation of the University of Islam Malang in the QS rankings. “We are currently only ranked in the Southeast Asia and Asia rankings; through this collaboration, we aim to achieve the same level as UTM, which is ranked globally,” stated the professor of English.
One of the Ph.D. students, M. Abror Rosyidin, said, “I am very happy to attend this international seminar. Through this event, I have gained a new perspective on Islamic da’wah in Malaysia and have made new friends from UTM Malaysia.”
Ismail bin Sulaiman, a Ph.D. student from UTM, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome.
“We would like to extend our appreciation to the Islamic University of Malang for welcoming us so warmly. We hope this collaboration will continue,” he said.
May this event be a small step toward strengthening our efforts to become a world-class university. (AL/PPS)
