Unisma’s postgraduate program held a thanksgiving celebration to commemorate a new Master’s program in Mathematics Education and obtaining accreditation for Master’s program in English Education on March 30, 2022. The thanksgiving featured a roasted goat as a symbol of gratitude and a commitment to advancing education at Unisma.
The thanksgiving was attended by stakeholders: the Rectorate, the Foundation, the Quality Assurance System, and faculty and staff from the MPBing and MPMat programs. In attendance were Unisma Rector Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si, Prof. Junaidi Mistar, Ph.D, Director of Postgraduate Programs Prof. H. M. Masud Said, MM., Ph.D, along with all program heads.
Foundation supervisors in attendance included Dr. Mochtar Data, M.Pd, Secretary of Supervisory Board; Dr. Ilyas Thohari, M.Pd, Chair of Supervisory Board; and Dr. Mudawamah, Chair of Business Affairs.
Distinguished professors in attendance included Prof. Efendi Kadarisman and Prof. Dr. Surahmat, M.Si. The faculty members present joined in the prayer when they were blessed to become full professors. Prof. Efendi is a professor in the Department of English Language Education, while Prof. Surahmat is a full professor in the field of Mathematics.
Prof. Masud Said, Director of Unisma’s Postgraduate Program, expressed his joy and pride in Unisma’s achievements. He referred to this continuous and sustainable progress as “continuous progress.”

UNISMA’s rector hopes that academic achievements can be maintained and nurtured appropriately. It is hoped that UNISMA’s ongoing progress will be sustained through careful preparation and readiness.
For example, human resource development, particularly for lecturers, must be enhanced and sustained. Attention should also be given to senior lecturers nearing retirement to ensure replacements are prepared, thus minimizing the impact on accreditation. (AL/PPS)
