Pamekasan – Pamekasan Regent Dr. Drs. K.H. Kholilurrahman Wafi, S.H., M.Si., highlighted the issue of equitable education quality across the regency while receiving a visit from the Postgraduate School of Universitas Islam Malang. Malang-based university visited Pamekasan Regency Government for an official courtesy call as well as the socialization and promotion of its academic programs on July 28, 2025.
UNISMA Postgraduate delegation was led directly by Director Prof. H. M. Mas’ud Said, MM., Ph.D., accompanied by several professors, including Prof. Dr. Imam Suprayogo, Prof. Dr. Maskuri, M.Si., and Prof. Dr. Djunaidi Ghony. The meeting held at pringgitan hall of the regent’s pavilion, was also attended by officials from Pamekasan Regency Government, including the Regional Secretary, Assistant III, the Head of the Education Office, and other senior officials.
This Visit aimed to expand collaborative networks and strengthen institutional partnerships, while also serving as a bridge between academics and practitioners across various sectors. Pamekasan regent welcomed the delegation and expressed hope that the visit would lead to concrete and collaborative initiatives.
Furthermore, the Regent voiced concern over disparities in education quality between the southern and northern regions of Pamekasan, stressing the need for more balanced development. As part of this initiative, Kiai Kholilurrahman has designated Waru District as a second growth center, with the goal of accelerating development in northern Pamekasan.
UNISMA’s Postgraduate School is regarded as a strategic partner in addressing this gap. The institution offered various opportunities for Pamekasan residents, particularly civil servants (ASN) to pursue master’s (S2) and doctoral (S3) studies as a means of improving human resource quality within the local government.
In addition to academic programs, UNISMA also offers training initiatives as part of its community service commitment. The Head of Education Office welcomed this proposal, noting that the education sector is currently aligning with national policy developments, particularly the implementation of deep learning–based instructional practices.
