Master’s Program in Indonesian Language Education at Postgraduate Program of Universitas Islam Malang filed an accreditation appeal today, August 3, 2020. This relates to the accreditation previously obtained in June 2019.
This is in accordance with National Higher Education Accreditation Agency (BAN-PT) Regulation No. 1 of 2017 concerning the Organizational Structure and Governance of BAN -PT, specifically Article 8, Paragraph 2, Letter h, Points 4 and 5, which state that the BAN-PT Executive Board accepts appeals regarding the accreditation status and/or accredited ranking of higher education institutions, prepares data, information, and documents regarding the accreditation status and/or accredited ranking to be submitted to the Accreditation Council.
The Accreditation Appeal assesses 9 standards, namely 1) Vision, Mission, Objectives, and Strategy; 2) Governance, Management, and Collaboration; 3) Students; 4) Human Resources; 5) Finance, Facilities, and Infrastructure; 6) Education; 7) Research, 8) Community Service, and 9) Outcomes and Achievements of the Tridharma.
This accreditation appeal was conducted via video conference. The MPBI team collectively attended the conference in the Meeting Room on the 3rd Floor of Ali bin Abi Tholib Building, Postgraduate Program. In attendance were the Rector of Unisma, the Director of Postgraduate Programs, Deputy Directors I and II, the Chair of Master’s Program in Indonesian Language, faculty members, and MPBI staff.
Dr. Setyo Pertiwi from Bogor Agricultural University, Dr. Muhammad Rohmadi, M.Hum from Sebelas Maret State University, and Dr. Hari Bakti Mardikantoro, M.Hum from Semarang State University served as assessors for the accreditation appeal.
Prior to this, the MPBI had received a “B” rating for the 2014–2019 accreditation period. Then, in late 2019, it underwent another accreditation process, achieving a score that nearly earned it an “A” rating.
