Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship (BIB) is a prestigious scholarship program jointly established by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and LPDP Ministry of Finance for Indonesians seeking to advance their careers, gain experience, and build academic networks in Indonesia and abroad. Through both degree and non-degree programs, the Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship is committed to preparing future leaders, educators, and professionals, as well as fostering innovation to realize a harmonious, peaceful, and prosperous Indonesia. BIB continues to strive toward developing human resources with high competitiveness, not only at the local level but also at the regional and even international levels.
To further support these objectives, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, in collaboration with the Education Fund Management Agency (LPDP) under the Ministry of Finance, is implementing a human resource capacity-building program through the Ministry of Religious Affairs Scholarship Funding Program starting in 2022.
Degree Programs
Scholarship Program for Degree Studies is intended for Indonesian citizens (WNI) who are alumni of Islamic boarding schools, graduates of Islamic Higher Education Institutions/Ma ’had Aly/Scholarship Program for High-Achieving Pesantren Students, Teachers and Educational Staff in Islamic Religious Education, Madrasah Educators and Educational Staff, Lecturers at Islamic Higher Education Institutions and Ma’had Aly, Lecturers in Islamic Religious Education, and Ministry of Religious Affairs employees for scholarships in Bachelor’s (S1), Master’s (S2) programs, and Doctoral (S3) programs in Indonesia and abroad, in accordance with applicable qualifications and requirements.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s (S1) or D4 degree and an official transcript from an accredited university, and for international graduates, submit a degree equivalency report with a minimum GPA of 3.00;
- Currently not enrolled in or having completed a Master’s (S2) program at either domestic or international universities;
- Willing to be a full-time student by leaving their primary duties, as evidenced by a statement of intent and/or a letter of permission from their supervisor for those who are currently employed;
- Possess a recommendation letter from an academic advisor or thesis supervisor (at least one person);
- Possess a score of at least TOEFL 475/IELTS 5.0/TOAFL 475 issued by ETS or the PTKIN Language Center (for TOEFL), Cambridge (for IELTS), and the PTKIN Language Center (for TOAFL), with a certificate validity period of up to 2 years from the date of issuance.
- Applicants for study programs at state universities are required to provide proof of admission (Unconditional Letter of Acceptance) from their chosen state university.
- Submit a study plan for the master’s program that includes the rationale for choosing the program, the thesis topic, a detailed study plan from the start of the semester through completion, and planned non-academic activities (written in Indonesian for domestic master’s programs; between 1,500–2,000 words)Download Application Guidelines
