On 12 August 2020, the Postgraduate Program conducted thesis examinations across multiple study programs simultaneously. The programs holding thesis defense sessions on this date were Master’s Program in Law, Master’s Program in Islamic Religious Education, and Master’s Program in Management.
Master’s Program in Law held its examination in two sessions. The first session ran from 08:00 to 09:45, with candidate Abang Maulana Rosadi defending a thesis titled “Criminal Law Enforcement Against the Dissemination of Fake News (Hoaxes) Through Social Media in the Presidential Election (Law Number 19 of 2016 on Amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 on Electronic Information and Transactions).”
The second session featured candidate Meliyani, who defended a thesis titled “The Effectiveness of Law Enforcement Against Sexual Harassment of Minors (A Case Study in Masakambing Village).”
Dr. H. Budi Pramono, SH., MH., along with the Head of the Master’s Program in Notary, Dr. Sunardi, SH., and the Head of Master’s Program in Law, Dr. H. Moh. Muhibbin, SH., M.Hum., rotated between the roles of principal examiner, first examiner, and second examiner across both sessions.

Master’s Program in Islamic Religious Education likewise held its examination in two sessions. The two candidates were Taufiq Riyadi, who defended a thesis titled “The Use of Active Learning Strategies and the Everyone Is A Teacher Method for Students with Special Needs at SD Plus Qurrotu A’yun Malang,” and Januar Abdul, whose research examined “Religious Series Learning at Purwodadi Elementary School, Pasuruan.”
Master’s Program in Islamic Religious Education thesis sessions proceeded smoothly, though it was noted that one of the supervising lecturers was unfortunately unable to attend.
In addition to the two programs above, Master’s Program in Management also conducted a thesis defense for Bayu Bimantoro. His thesis was titled “The Influence of Service Quality and E-CRM on Consumer Loyalty Through Consumer Satisfaction at PT. Infinity Special Service.”
The examination lasted approximately two hours, with Prof. Dr. Nurhajati, MS., Dr. Muhammad Ridwan Basamalah, MM., and one examiner from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) participating via video teleconference.
All thesis examinations were conducted in person with strict adherence to COVID-19 health and prevention protocols. As has been the practice, sessions were held in a hybrid format with some participants present in the examination room and others attending via video teleconference. (AL/NAD/PPS)
