Malang, June 10, 2023 – Master in Islamic Religious Education (MPAI) at UNISA’s Postgraduate Program hosted two experts in the field of scientific article writing: M. Faruq Ubaidillah, M.Pd, and Dr. Zuhkhriyan Zakaria, M.Pd. The presence of these two experts provided appropriate guidance and direction for students in drafting high-quality articles.
In the training session titled “Drafting Articles and Citing National Journals Indexed in Sinta and International Journals Indexed in Scopus,” MPAI Unisma is committed to enhancing students’ capacity to draft scientific articles suitable for publication in Scopus-indexed journals.
To this end, MPAI Unisma held a special training session on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the Postgraduate Building. The event was closely attended by MPAI students eager to hone their writing skills.
Scientific Article Output Targets
It is expected that 10 articles will be ready for submission to various journals upon completion of this training. Participants will receive intensive guidance on effective writing methods, proper citation techniques, and strategies for getting their articles accepted by reputable journals.
This training was officially opened by the Deputy Director 2 of Unisma Postgraduate Program, Dr. Rulam Ahmadi, M.Pd. In his remarks, Dr. Rulam Ahmadi expressed his hope that many MPAI students’ writings would be published in national and international journals. He emphasized that this success would greatly facilitate the students’ graduation from Unisma’s Postgraduate Program, as one of the graduation requirements is successfully publishing a scientific journal article indexed at a minimum of Sinta 4.
Expert Guidance on Scientific Articles
Additionally, this training is expected to serve as a platform for Unisma MPAI students to share knowledge and experiences in drafting scientific articles. Thus, the spirit of collaboration and the exchange of ideas among students will become even stronger, having a positive impact on the development of research in the field of Islamic Education.
The MPAI students at Unisma expressed their appreciation for the postgraduate initiative in organizing this training. They hope that such training will continue to be held regularly to provide MPAI students at Unisma with the latest knowledge and skills. In addition, they also expressed their gratitude to M. Faruq Ubaidillah, M.Pd, and Dr. Zuhkhriyan Zakaria, M.Pd, for the valuable contributions and insights they shared during the training.
In this training, participants were provided with an in-depth understanding of scientific article writing techniques, including identifying relevant topics, collecting and analyzing data, structuring the article outline, and writing clearly, coherently, and persuasively. Furthermore, participants were taught the importance of accurate and appropriate citation practices, ensuring the resulting articles possess high credibility.
In addition to focusing on Scopus-indexed journals, this training also guided MPAI students to submit their articles to Sinta-indexed national journals. Thus, Unisma MPAI students are expected to make tangible contributions to enriching scientific research at the national and international levels.
MPAI Program Head Encourages Students’ Academic Career Development
Dr. M. Afifulloh, M.Pd, Head of the MPAI Program, hopes that this training will serve as an important milestone for MPAI students in the development of their academic and professional careers. He emphasized the importance of improving their ability to write scientific articles, as this benefits not only the students personally but also the institution and society at large.
On this occasion, Dr. M. Afifulloh, M.Pd, expressed his hope that this training would make a valuable contribution to the advancement of knowledge in the field of Islamic Religious Education. He also revealed plans to involve more experts and practitioners in similar training sessions in the future. This aims to continuously improve the quality and relevance of the training, as well as ensure that Unisma MPAI students remain at the forefront of producing high-quality scholarly works.
