Surabaya, July 24, 2023 – Director of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. M Mas’ud Said, MM., Ph.D., provided an in-depth briefing on Regional Development Strategies and Integrated Poverty Alleviation Funding to the Indonesian Society of Public Administration (MIPI).
The session, held as part of the Prominent Leaders Academy Lecture series, was attended by 30 selected youngsters who aim to prepare themselves for Indonesia’s Golden Age in 2045.
A collaboration between MIPI, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Ford Foundation successfully organized this important event in Surabaya. Prof. M Mas’ud Said, a graduate of Flinders University, served as a speaker and shared the latest insights on regional development and integrated poverty alleviation funding.

Founder of MIPI
Prof. M. Mas’ud Said is one of the young leaders who was actively involved in the preparations for the establishment of MIPI in 1991 in Jakarta. Together with distinguished figures such as Prof. M. Ryaas Rasyid, the late Prof. Swargono, Prof. Muclish Hamdi, Prof. Muhtar Masoed, and other figures like Prof. Ngadisah, MA, at the Institute of Governmental Studies in Jakarta, he played a crucial role in establishing this academic institution.
In his presentation, Prof. M Mas’ud Said outlined strategies to strengthen regional development in Indonesia. He emphasized the importance of an integrated approach to addressing poverty issues across various regions. The material presented is highly relevant to the Indonesia Emas 2045 vision, in which poverty alleviation efforts must be a top priority.
One of the highlights of the event was the recognition of Prof. M Mas’ud Said’s work, which has been acknowledged by the scientific community. He has recently been granted Intellectual Property Rights for his research findings and outstanding contributions in the field of integrated development and poverty alleviation strategies.
