Palembang (August 5, 2023), Prof. M. Mas’ud Said, MM., Ph.D, as Director of Postgraduate Studies at Universitas Islam Malang (Unisma), signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with the Postgraduate Program of the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Palangka Raya on August 6, 2023.
The signing took place following the 2nd National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) of ISNU, held at the Swarna Dwipa Hotel in Palembang on August 4–5, 2023. The Director of Postgraduate Studies attended the Rapimnas in his capacity as Chair of ISNU East Java.
This CA serves as a continuation of a previous agreement; a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Rector of Unisma, Prof. Dr. Maskuri, M.Si, and the Rector of IAIN Palangka Raya, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Dakhoir, on September 7, 2022.
During the visit, Prof. M. Mas’ud Said, as Director of the Unisma Postgraduate Program, took concrete steps to advance the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the University of Islam Malang. Among the cooperation agreements reached were collaborations in the form of guest lectures, joint research between faculty and students, peer review for accredited journals, and joint scientific writing.
This cooperation agreement covers collaboration on master’s and doctoral programs. The signing of this agreement had been planned well in advance as a follow-up to the MOU between the Rector of Universitas Islam Malang and the Rector of IAIN Palangka Raya, which was signed the previous year.
“This step is not something new, but rather a tangible manifestation of a deeper meaning and a continuation of the cooperation that has previously existed between the two institutions,” stated Prof. M. Mas’ud Said on the sidelines of the National Leadership Meeting of the Nahdlatul Ulama Scholars Association.
With the signing of this agreement, it is hoped that the collaboration between UNISMA Postgraduate Program and IAIN Palangka Raya Postgraduate Program will become more concrete and sustainable. This step is aimed at advancing the quality of higher education and research in Indonesia. It is hoped that this will open up broader opportunities for sharing insights and collaboration among academics and students from both campuses. (MMS/AL/PPS)
