Lukman Affandhy Successfully Completes Three Semesters with a Scopus-Indexed Research Paper

Malang, August 9, 2023 – A remarkable achievement has been made by Lukman Affandhy, a student in Master of Animal Husbandry Program at Universitas Islam Malang. In a short time, Lukman successfully completed his master’s degree in just three semesters, with an extraordinary accomplishment, he managed to publish a Scopus-indexed scientific paper.

The first Scopus-indexed scientific paper, titled “Semen Quality of Ongole Crossbred Bull with Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH) Treatment,” was authored by Lukman. The article was successfully published in the journal Advances in Animal and Veterinary Sciences, a renowned journal in the fields of animal science and veterinary medicine indexed in Scopus Q4.

Not only that, in the article Lukman collaborated with four other authors, namely Muchamad Luthfi, Yeni Widyaningrum, Dian Ratnawati, and Mutia Primananda. All five are researchers at the Beef Cattle Research Center in Grati, Pasuruan, an institution under the Ministry of Agriculture.

In addition to this article, Lukman has also written other scientific works that are equally interesting. An article titled “Introduction of Superior Bulls and Feed Banks to Enhance the Sustainability of Livestock Programs in Indonesia” was successfully published in The International Journal of Science and Technology.

Lukman’s success in completing his master’s degree without writing a thesis is truly commendable. Nevertheless, the two scientific articles published in those prestigious journals were evaluated as part of the degree completion process. The examiners for this research included Dr. Ir. Mudawamah, M.Si., ASEAN. Eng., Dr. Ir. Sumartono, M.P., and Dr. Ir. Umi Kalsum, M.P. Lukman received high praise for this achievement, which will serve as an inspiration for other students and researchers in pursuing excellence in the academic world.

Scientific Work Focus

The first article is a study focused on improving livestock reproduction through the addition of GnRH to enhance the sperm quality of Peranakan Ongole cattle. Meanwhile, the second article is a study concentrating on a scheme for developing an animal feed bank through aquaculture.
