On August 28, 2023 – At Ali bin Abi Thlib Building, 7th floor, Master’s Program in Mathematics Education at Universitas Islam Malang held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) aimed at reviewing the program’s curriculum. The event was attended by various stakeholders, including Dr. Fuat, M.Pd., Vice Rector I of Wiranegara University in Pasuruan, and Ms. Khusnul Khotimah, S.Pd., Chair of the Mathematics Teachers’ Working Group (MGMP) for Junior High Schools across Malang Regency.
This FGD served as a platform for mathematics education experts and practitioners in the field to collaborate in evaluating and updating the curriculum of the Master’s Program in Mathematics Education.

Dr. Fuat, M.Pd., Vice Rector I of Wiranegara University in Pasuruan, made valuable contributions to the discussion. Drawing on his experience in curriculum development and higher education administration, Dr. Fuat offered strategic insights and innovative solutions for designing a curriculum that is relevant and responsive to current needs.
Meanwhile, Ms. Khusnul Khotimah, S.Pd., as Chair of the Junior High School Mathematics Teachers’ Working Group for Malang Regency, provided in-depth insights into the practical needs of the curriculum being developed, drawing on her extensive experience and understanding of the challenges in teaching mathematics at junior high school level.
“The presence of Dr. Fuat and Mrs. Khusnul Khotimah was highly significant in this curriculum review process,” stated Dr. Surya Sari Faradiba, S.Si., M.Pd., Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Mathematics Education. “Their contributions helped us broaden our perspectives and ensure that the curriculum we developed is of guaranteed quality and can adapt to the dynamic developments in mathematics education.”
Additionally, the presence of various other stakeholders, such as faculty members, students, alumni, and community leaders, provided diverse perspectives in the process of developing a comprehensive and competitive curriculum.
This initiative demonstrates the commitment of UNISMA’s Master’s Program in Mathematics Education to ensuring that the curriculum aligns with the latest developments in the field of mathematics education, while making a significant contribution to improving the quality of mathematics education in Indonesia.
