Malang, October 19, 2023 – The Postgraduate Program at Universitas Islam Malang (UNISMA) celebrated this joyous occasion by holding a commencement ceremony for the 71st graduating class at the Grand Paramount Ballroom on the 2nd floor of the Atria Hotel in Malang. This event is part of the lead-up to the university-wide graduation ceremony, which will be attended by all graduates from various faculties at UNISMA on Friday, October 20, 2023.
A total of 148 prospective graduates from the Master’s and Doctoral programs attended this send-off event. They have successfully completed their academic journey and are ready to move on to the next stage of their lives.

This special moment also served as an opportunity for the UNISMA Postgraduate Program to recognize the top graduates from various study programs. Below are the names of the top graduates and their grades:
- Master in Islamic Religious Education – Illiyyun Kurniailah (Grade 3.96/With Distinction)
- Master in Islamic Family Law – Syifa Fauzhia Nuur Fadhilah (GPA 3.96/With Distinction)
- Master in Indonesian Language Education – Alfiyah Hasanah (GPA 3.94/With Distinction)
- Master in English Language Education – Faridatul Istighfaroh (GPA 4.00/With Distinction)
- Master in Law – A. Miftahul Amin (Grade 4.00/Honors)
- Master in Management – Ari Prasetyo Hirmawan (Grade 3.96/Honors)
- Master in Public Administration – Faridatul Istighfaroh Herzegovina (Grade 4.00/Honors
- Master in Notarial Studies – Maritha Adriyanti (GPA 3.96/With Honors)
- Master in Animal Husbandry – Lukman Affandhy (GPA 4.00)
- Master in Mathematics Education – Fenny Putri Arfany (GPA 4.00/Honors)
- Doctoral Degree in Multicultural Islamic Education – Marzuki (GPA 3.86/Honors)
Lukman Affandhy from the Master of Animal Husbandry Study Program was named the top graduate at the postgraduate level with a GPA of 4.00 and received Honors. He was entrusted to deliver a speech on behalf of the alumni representatives, providing inspiration and motivation to the prospective graduates.

The Director of the UNISMA Postgraduate Program presents an award to the top graduate of the Master’s Program in Islamic Education
Prior to the presentation of awards to the top graduates, the Director of the UNISMA Postgraduate Program, Prof. H. M. Mas’ud Said, MM., Ph.D., expressed his pride in the achievements of UNISMA’s postgraduate graduates during his remarks. “The achievements of UNISMA postgraduate students who earned a 4.00 GPA with honors across various programs demonstrate the strong commitment of both faculty and students in supporting UNISMA’s vision to become a World-Class University. We have established collaborations with various universities abroad to realize this vision,” he stated.
The Rector of UNISMA, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si., also expressed UNISMA’s determination to become a world-class university. He stated that concrete steps have been taken, including the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with universities abroad. Now, the focus is on implementing these MoUs to achieve greater success.

The send-off ceremony proceeded smoothly and with great enthusiasm under the direction of Dr. Pardiman, MM., Head of the UNISMA Graduate Management Program. Music accompanied the entire event, including the new song “Mars Pascasarjana UNISMA” composed by the Director of UNISMA’s Postgraduate Program. The prospective graduates felt proud of this well-organized ceremony, and their enthusiasm to support UNISMA as a World-Class University grew even stronger.
