Malang, December 5, 2023 – Another proud achievement has been attained by three Master of Islamic Family Law (MHKI) students from Universitas Islam Malang. Dendik Irawan, Ismail Arsyad, and Sachrawi Hidayat won first place and Best Speaker in the National Master of Law Debate Competition at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
The Director of the Unisma Postgraduate Program, Prof. H. M. Mas’ud Said, MM., Ph.D., expressed high praise for the success of these three students. “This achievement reflects the excellence and commitment of Unisma MHKI students in facing national-level competitions,” said Prof. Mas’ud Said.
The competition, which was attended by law postgraduate students from various universities, served as a platform for participants to sharpen their analysis and understanding of contemporary legal issues. With the motion theme “Draft Criminal Code on Sexual Rape of a Spouse (Marital Rape),” participants were expected to provide in-depth insights regarding this sensitive issue within Islamic family law.

Dendik Irawan and Ismail Arsyad, after achieving outstanding accomplishments, had the opportunity to meet directly with Prof. Mas’ud Said. This meeting served as a valuable moment to share perspectives, constructive ideas, and gain further inspiration for the development of Islamic family law. Sachrawi Hidayat was unable to attend as he was engaged in activities in Jakarta.
The success of these three MHKI Unisma students has helped elevate the university’s reputation in the realm of academic competitions. The support and guidance provided by the university and the postgraduate program were key factors in achieving these accomplishments.
