Malang, April 30, 2024 – A significant milestone in the education sector was marked as the Master’s Program in Mathematics Education at Universitas Islam Malang and Mathematics Teachers’ Subject Forum (MGMP) of Malang Regency agreed to establish close collaboration. The signing of Cooperation Agreement (PKS) on April 25, 2024, reflects both institutions’ commitment to improving the quality of mathematics education in the region.
The signing ceremony was attended by representatives from Master’s Program in Mathematics Education at Universitas Islam Malang and the MGMP Mathematics Forum of Malang Regency. Both parties agreed to support one another in enhancing mathematical understanding and skills among teachers and students across the regency.
Dr. Surya Sari Faradiba, S.Si., M.Pd., Head of Master’s Program in Mathematics Education at Universitas Islam Malang, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. “We are very excited about this opportunity to collaborate with the MGMP Mathematics Forum of Malang Regency. Through this partnership, we hope to make a meaningful contribution to strengthening mathematics education in the region, whether through teacher training, joint research, or the development of relevant curricula,” she said.

Meanwhile, Khusnul Khotimah, S.Pd., Chair of the MGMP Mathematics Forum of Malang Regency, emphasized that the cooperation represents a positive step toward improving the quality of mathematics education in the area. “This collaboration is a very positive step for us in supporting the improvement of mathematics education in Malang Regency. By combining the strengths of universities and education practitioners, we believe new breakthroughs can be created that will benefit all stakeholders involved,” she said.
The agreement covers a range of collaborative initiatives, including the organization of training sessions and workshops for teachers, the exchange of expertise and knowledge between university lecturers and school teachers, and the development of innovative learning materials aligned with the latest developments in mathematics education.
With the signing of this cooperation agreement, the Master’s Program in Mathematics Education at Universitas Islam Malang and the MGMP Mathematics Forum of Malang Regency are entering a new era of educational partnership. The collaboration is expected to significantly enhance public understanding and appreciation of mathematics while improving students’ academic achievement across the region.
