Doctoral Program in Islamic Religious Education Graduates Student from Banten

Universitas Islam Malang has once again conferred a doctoral degree through its Multicultural Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Doctoral Program. The doctoral candidate who undertook the open dissertation examination today (17/11) was Rifki Sujahilman, S.H.I., M.Pd.I., from Banten.

His dissertation, entitled “Wasathiyah Islamic Education: Appreciation of Local Culture at Pondok Pesantren Terpadu Bismillah, Serang, Banten,” is grounded in the phenomenon that Banten is characterised by a strong Islamic identity intertwined with local culture. In addition, Pondok Pesantren Bismillah is noted for its appreciation of local wisdom and traditions in fostering a model of Wasathiyah Islamic education.

The open dissertation examination of Promovendus Rifki Sujahilman was chaired by the Rector, Prof. Junaidi Mistar, M.Pd., Ph.D., and assisted by the Director of the Postgraduate Program, Prof. M. Mas’ud Said, M.M., Ph.D., who served as secretary of the examination as well as co-promoter. Other members of the board of examiners included Prof. Dr. Nur Syam, M.Si., Prof. Dr. Imam Suprayogo, Prof. Dr. Djunaidi Ghony, M.Pd., Prof. Abdul Jalil, M.Pd., and Prof. Dr. Maskuri, M.Si., who also acted as promoter.

Rifki Sujahilman was declared to have passed with cum laude distinction and was recorded as the 140th doctoral graduate of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) program. Congratulations!

Subsequently, the board of examiners also examined other doctoral candidates from Banten who were scheduled to undertake closed dissertation examinations under the leadership of the Director of the Postgraduate Program. They were Hasan Muniri and San Ridwan Maulana.
