Yesterday (6/9), the Unisma has held an open senate meeting to discuss the 2021 New Student Orientation for Study and Campus Life. Activities like these are always routinely carried out every year during the new student admissions period.
This time, New Student Orientation Program was held offline at the Unisma Round Building while still implementing strict health protocols. The participants joining this agenda are new s and senior students who had not passed New Student Orientation Program in the previous year.
Based on the report of vice rector 4, Dr. Hj. Istirochah Pujiwati, M.P., the number of students in this year, 2021, is 4,527 students from all study programs from the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. Undergraduate faculties at Unisma are: Faculty of Islamic Religion, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, and Faculty of Medicine.
Moreover, the graduate study programs in Unisma include: Masters in Islamic Religion Education, Masters in Islamic Family Law, Masters in Law, Masters in Indonesian Language Education, Masters in English Education, Masters in Administrative Sciences, Masters in Management, Masters in Animal Husbandry, Masters in Notary and one doctoral program in Multicultural Islamic Education.
After the vice rector 4 read the report followed by the vice rector 3, then Rector of Unisma put on alma mater coats on the two new students symbolically, and then followed by all new students that are joining New Student Orientation both offline and online.
This current event was also enlivened by performing dances and beautiful song performed by new students, which made the New Student Orientation even more active and dynamic. Undoubtedly, this event will be very memorable for the new students in the future.
The rector of UNISMA, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si. in his speech said: “ Unisma is indeed an Islamic university because it is indeed the Nahdlatul Ulama Campus which was founded by Ulama as a superior campus because Unisma is included in the category of superior campus and a multicultural campus because the students come from various countries, cultures, and ethnicities”.
He also advised that the future is not achieved by people who like to sit idly by and are not eager to study. The future is for those who are willing to study hard and are able to face various obstacles of the times and have an entrepreneurial spirit, he added.
The New Student Orientation is hoped to be able to motivate new students to study hard and be able to adapt to campus life well, so that they can finally go home with honorary degrees and be beneficial to the surrounding community, Amen ya Rabbal Alamiin.
