UNISMA Achieves A-Rank Accreditation, Ready to Become a World-Class University

UNISMA Academic community, particularly Faculty of Economics and Business (FIA) and UNISMA Postgraduate Program, is overjoyed at this moment. They are delighted because the Administrative Science Program and Master’s Program in Islamic Education have received A-rank accreditation. All are grateful for this achievement and celebrated by holding a joint iftar.

Director of UNISMA Postgraduate, Prof. H. M. Mas’ud Said, MM., Ph.D., along with Deputy Director 1 (Dr. H. Nur Fajar Arif, M.Pd) and Deputy Director 2 (Dr. Rulam Ahmadi, M.Pd) attended the celebration, accompanied by KPS and staff from postgraduate programs.

The opening remarks were delivered by the Dean of FIA (Dr. Hj. Rini Rahayu Kurniati, M.Si). In her remarks, she expressed her gratitude to all parties who supported and assisted the program from the documentation process through the on-site visit, enabling FIA to achieve an A-level accreditation.

The Dean of FIA acknowledged that UNISMA Rectorate and Foundation had directly monitored and provided guidance regarding both form content and essential facilities related to FIA’s academic and administrative operations.

On this occasion, accompanying FIA Dean were Vice Dean 1 (Daris Zunaida, S.AB., M.AB); Vice Dean 2 (Retno Wulan Sekarsari, S.AP., M.AP., M.Pol.Sc.); and Vice Dean 3 (Dr. Afifuddin, MM); as well as the Heads of Study Programs and their faculty members. The former Head of Master’s Program in Islamic Education (Dr. Syamsu Madyan, LC., MA.) assisted with field assessment procedures during on-site evaluation.

Director of Postgraduate Program also had the opportunity to deliver his remarks. He emphasized, “Achieving an A ranking serves as inspiration to work tirelessly to ensure other programs can also attain an A ranking. This achievement is solely due to our collective hard work, including the leadership, program coordinators, faculty members, and staff.”

UNISMA’s postgraduate program offers several study programs: 1) Islamic Education and 2) Islamic Law (Program Coordinator: Dr. Muhammad Afifulloh, M.Ed.); 3) Indonesian Language Education (Program Coordinator: Dr. Akhmad Tabrani, M.Ed.); 4) English Language Education (Program Coordinator: Dr. Hj. Mutmainnah, M.Ed.); 5) Management (Program Coordinator: Dr. Pardiman, MM); 6) Law (Program Coordinator: Dr. H. M. Muhibbin, M.Hum); 7) Notary (Program Coordinator: Dr. Sunardi, M.Hum); 8) Animal Husbandry (Program Coordinator: Dr. Sumartono, ); and 9) Doctoral Program in Multicultural Islamic Education (Program Coordinator: Prof. Dr. H. Djunaidi Ghony).

UNISMA Rector, Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si, stated in his remarks, “Successful achievement of A-grade accreditation by UNISMA’s Faculty of Islamic Studies (FIA) and Master’s Program in Islamic Education has injected new enthusiasm to encourage other programs to also attain an A-grade. The key to this success lies not in the rector, but in our collective effort. This success is also the result of hard work, smart work, thorough work, and sincere work.”

Dr. H. Mochtar Data, M.Pd., Secretary of UNISMA Foundation Board of Trustees, also delivered remarks. In his remarks, he emphasized, “Achieving Grade A accreditation was indeed the determination of Postgraduate Program and FIA. That determination has proven to yield brilliant results, namely Grade A accreditation. We are serious about building and managing UNISMA. This seriousness leaves a distinct impression on the assessors.”

Going forward, the challenge is how to use this outstanding achievement as inspiration to encourage other study programs to obtain A-level accreditation across the board. This is a task that demands very thorough preparation, not only to maintain A-level accreditation but also to achieve a global-class standard so that UNISMA can truly go global.
