Ministry of Religious Affairs Praises Doctoral Program Graduates for On-Time Completion

Indonesia’s Directorate of Islamic Higher Education (Diktis) has praised Unisma’s doctoral program graduates for completing their studies on time. The recognition came after Dr. Maman Abdurrahman learned that the entire 2018 cohort of scholarship recipients had achieved a 100 percent graduation rate.

Head of Diktis’ Personnel Subdirectorate encouraged doctoral students receiving the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ 5,000 Doctorates Scholarship to pursue accelerated study completion going forward.

The session was attended by Deputy Director I Dr. Nur Fajar Arief, Prof. Dr. Djunaidy Ghony, Dwi Ari Kurniawati, and 18 scholarship recipients.

Program alumnus M. Asrori noted challenges brought on by the pandemic. “We were originally expected to finish by the sixth semester, but ended up completing our studies in the seventh instead. If refocused COVID funding exists, we should be considered part of those affected too,” he said. (AL/PPS)
