Unisma’s Multicultural Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Doctoral Program has encouraged students to accelerate their studies, addressing the topic through a webinar held December 29, 2020, via Zoom Virtual Meeting.
The webinar, themed “Accelerating Doctoral Studies and Curriculum Development for the Multicultural Doctoral Program in the Spirit of Merdeka Belajar–Kampus Merdeka,” brought together university leadership, faculty, students, alumni, and stakeholders involved in curriculum development.

The evaluation session was moderated by Dwi Ari Kurniati, M.HI, Secretary of the Multicultural PAI Doctoral Program. The first presentation came from Unisma Rector Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si, who outlined strategies for improving academic quality.
The second presentation was delivered by Postgraduate Director Prof. M. Mas’ud Said, MM., PhD, who addressed the Postgraduate Program’s policy on accelerating doctoral study completion.
Third, Prof. Djunaidi Ghony spoke on proposal writing and the broader journey of dissertation development, stressing the importance of presenting field data exactly as it appears, rather than filtering it through the writer’s personal interpretation before committing it to the page.

Dr. Sri Wahyudi, M.Pd, explained that Indonesia’s Ministry of Education and Culture has introduced the Merdeka Belajar curriculum, which programs can adapt and develop according to their specific needs. Curriculum development at the university level draws not only on this Merdeka Belajar framework but also on Indonesia’s National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) as a guiding reference. (AL/PPS)
