The Postgraduate Program held two open defense sessions to evaluate candidates for the Multicultural Islamic Education doctoral program. The first session began with Moh. Irmawan Jauhari, S.Th.I., M.Pd.I, and the second session featured Sukarno L. Hasyim, S.H., M.M. The first session started at 8:00 a.m., with the opening ceremony led by Dr. Pardiman, S.E., M.M. Each doctoral candidate presented their research findings during the open defense. What were their findings?
On the right, Dr. Pardiman, S.E., M.M. presided over court proceedings, while Ms. Silfi led the singing of the national anthem “Indonesia Raya” and “Ya Ahlal Wathan.”
Mr. Jauhari presented his dissertation titled “The Construction of Tolerance Attitudes Based on Multicultural Islamic Education (A Case Study at Grogol State Vocational High School in Kediri and Tanjunganom State Senior High School in Nganjuk).” The research objectives of this dissertation are to describe, analyze, and interpret how the internalization, externalization, and objectification of the attitude of tolerance occur in the subjects of study in question.
Dissertation Defense Process for Moh. Irmawan Jauhari, S.Th.I., M.Pd.I.
The defense was chaired by Prof. Maskuri, M.Si, with Prof. M. Mas’ud Said, MM., Ph.D, serving as secretary. Members of the examining committee included Prof. Imam Suprayogo, Prof. Dr. Mulyadi, Prof. Dr. H. Djunaidi Ghoni, Prof. Abdul Haris, M.Ag., and Dr. H.M. Hanief, M.Pd. The supervisors and co-supervisors of Brother Jauhari’s dissertation were Prof. Maskuri, M.Si, and Dr. H.M. Hanief, M.Pd., who also served as examiners. The examination concluded at 10:30 a.m. Alhamdulillah, Moh Irmawan Jauhari, S.Th.I., M.Pd.I., was declared to have passed with honors.

The second session began at 11:00 AM with doctoral candidate Sukarno L. Hasyim, S.H., M.M. Mr. Hasyim presented his dissertation titled “Implementation of Islamic Religious Education (A Study on the Value of Tolerance in the Learning Process at SMAN 1 Sooko and SMKN 1 Pungging, Mojokerto Regency).” The research objectives of his dissertation were to gain an understanding and findings regarding the values of tasamuh, the implementation of these values, and models for implementing the tasamuh values in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning process at SMAN 1 Sooko and SMKN 1 Pungging.

The second session of proceedings was chaired by Prof. Maskuri, M.Si, with Prof. M. Mas’ud Said, MM, Ph.D, serving as secretary. Members of the examination committee included Prof. Imam Suprayogo, Prof. Dr. Mulyadi, Prof. Dr. H. Djunaidi Ghony, Prof. Abdul Haris, M.Ag., and Prof. H. Junaidi, M.Pd., Ph.D. The supervisor and co-supervisor, who also served as examiners for Brother Hasyim’s dissertation, were Prof. Dr. H. Djunaidi Ghony and Prof. H. Junaidi, M.Pd., Ph.D. The examination concluded at 2:30 PM. Alhamdulillah, Sukarno L. Hasyim, S.H., M.M., was declared to have passed with the grade of “Highly Satisfactory.”
