Unisma and Unipa Surabaya Sign MoU to Strengthen Master’s Program in Englis Languageh Education

Malang, May 18, 2024 – Master’s Program in English Language Education at UNISMA officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya (Unipa). The signing marks the beginning of a strategic partnership between the two institutions in the fields of education, research, and community service.

The signing ceremony, held at Unisma campus, was warmly welcomed by several university leaders and academics from Unisma. Among those present were Muthmainnah Mustofa, head of Master’s Program in English Education, accompanied by several lecturers including Sonny Elfiyanto, Dzul Fikri, Muhammad Yunus, Dwi Fita Heriyawati, Alfan Zuhari, and Eko Suhartoyo, who also serves as the head of undergraduate English Education program.

From Unipa Surabaya delegation, the event was attended by Sunu Catur Budiyono, dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, who led a team consisting of Nunung Nurjati, Nukmatus Syahria, head of Master’s Program in English Education, and Endah Yulia Rahayu.

The collaboration aims to enhance higher education quality through joint initiatives in both academic and non-academic activities. In the field of education, the two universities will exchange curriculum insights, organize joint seminars and workshops, and expand opportunities for student and lecturer exchanges. In research, the partnership will facilitate collaborative studies, scientific publications, and participation in national and international seminars and conferences. Meanwhile, in community service, both institutions agreed to implement programs beneficial to the wider public, including teacher training, literacy initiatives, and education-based community development.

In her remarks, Muthmainnah Mustofa expressed hope that the partnership would run smoothly and bring tangible benefits to both institutions and society. “We hope this collaboration will enhance the quality of education and contribute positively to the advancement of knowledge, particularly in the field of English language education,” she said.

Sunu Catur Budiyono also conveyed his appreciation to Unisma for facilitating the cooperation. “This collaboration is a strategic part of our benchmarking efforts toward the Master’s Program in English Education at Unisma. We hope that together we can continue improving the quality of education in the future,” he stated.

With the signing of MoU, the collaboration between Universitas Islam Malang and Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya is expected to grow further and create a positive impact on the development of education. (AL/PPS)
