The Vice Chair for Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah (Ziswaf) of UNISMA Foundation, Drs. Ali Ashari, M.Pd., and a lecturer at Universitas Islam Madura (UIM) Pamekasan, Moh. Afiful Hair, M.Pd., have successfully completed the Doctoral Program in Multicultural Islamic Religious Education (PAI) after passing their open dissertation examinations on August 2, 2025, at the East Java Study Center Hall.
The board of examiners for the examinations included Prof. Junaidi, M.Pd., Ph.D., Prof. M. Mas’ud Said, M.M., Ph.D., Prof. Nur Syam, M.Si., Prof. Dr. Imam Suprayogo, Prof. Dr. Maskuri, M.Si., Prof. Dr. Djunaidi Ghony, M.A., and Dr. Abdul Jalil, M.Pd.
The panel of professors examining Afiful Hair, S.S., M.Pd.I differed slightly from the previous session, with Dr. Abdul Jalil, M.Pd replaced by Dr. Afifulloh, M.Pd as the seventh examiner.

Doctoral candidate Dr. Ali Ashari, M.Pd., presented the findings of his dissertation on educator competencies at the International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) Thursina Malang. Meanwhile, doctoral candidate Afiful Hair outlined his research on the leadership of young kiai (lora) within the pluralistic society of Pamekasan Regency.
Ali Ashari was supervised by Prof. Junaidi Mistar, M.Pd., Ph.D. as promoter, with Prof. Dr. Maskuri, M.Si. serving as co-promoter. Afiful Hair was supervised by Prof. Dr. Maskuri, M.Si. and Prof. Djunaidi Ghony, M.A.
Ali Ashari was declared to have passed as the 124th doctoral graduate with a very satisfactory distinction. In the second examination session held the same day, Afiful Hair, S.S., M.Pd.I., was declared the 125th doctoral graduate, earning the distinction of with honors. Congratulations!
