Saturday, May 29, 2021 – Unisma’s Multicultural Islamic Education (PAI) Doctoral Program held a busy schedule of open dissertation defenses, promoting two candidates to doctoral status: Mirhabun Nadir and Salim. Both defenses took place in the East Java Studies Center room, Ali bin Abi Tholib Building, 3rd floor.
Mirhabun Nadir, SE., MM, defended his dissertation titled “Implementing Multicultural Education Values at Darussalam Islamic Boarding School, Blokagung, Banyuwangi, and Salafiyah Syafi’iyah Islamic Boarding School, Sukorejo, Situbondo.” The research employed a qualitative approach using grounded theory methodology to gather data.
His examination was chaired by Prof. Dr. Maskuri, M.Si, with Prof. Mas’ud Said, MM., PhD, serving as secretary of the examining board. Additional examiners included Prof. Dr. Imam Suprayogo, Dr. Hanief, M.Pd., Prof. Dr. Djunaidi Ghony, Prof. Dr. Yaqub Cikusin, M.Si, and Dr. Hasan Busri, M.Pd.

The second candidate, Salim, S.Ag., M.Si, an academic at Raden Rahmat Islamic University (UNIRA), Kepanjen, Malang, defended his dissertation titled “Instilling Multicultural Islamic Values in Higher Education Institutions.” His qualitative research employed a phenomenological approach, conducted at Universitas Merdeka Malang.
Salim’s examination was likewise chaired by Prof. Dr. Maskuri, M.Si, with Prof. Mas’ud Said, MM., PhD, serving as secretary. Additional examiners included Prof. Dr. Imam Suprayogo, Prof. Junaidi Mistar, PhD, Prof. Djunaidi Ghony, M.Pd., Prof. Yaqub Cikusin, and Prof. Dr. Agus Sugianto, S.T., M.P.
