In preparation for the New Normal Life phase, Postgraduate Program of Universitas Islam Malang held a socialisation session on Thursday, 18 June 2020, at Ali bin Abi Thalib Building, 4th Floor. The event was facilitated by Dr. Rulam Ahmadi, M.Pd., Deputy Director of Postgraduate Program, and commenced precisely at 10:00 WIB.
In his opening remarks, Prof. M. Mas’ud Said, Ph.D., conveyed that the Rector has issued four circulars pertaining to New Normal Life, covering matters in the areas of religious practice, work arrangements (Work From Office/Work From Home), academic and financial protocols, and the mandatory use of face masks across campus premises.

In his address, Postgraduate Program Director outlined three viable options in navigating the pandemic: a full health-first approach through Work From Home (WFH); working intensively with minimal attention to health precautions; or remaining productive while adhering to strict health protocols.
The institution has unanimously opted for the third approach productivity under strict protocols. To further enhance institutional output, the Professor of Administrative Science also emphasised the critical importance of coordination and execution in every aspect of task delivery.
The socialisation continued with a presentation by Dr. Nur Fajar Arief, M.Si., Deputy Director I of Postgraduate Program, who outlined a series of strategies formulated to sustain productivity during the New Normal in support of the university’s Tridharma obligations. These encompassed academic strategies, infrastructure development, student affairs, as well as publication and information technology. Among the key elements highlighted under the academic strategy was the reconstruction of an innovative, collaborative, and outcome-based curriculum.

Also present at the socialisation was UNISMA Vice Rector II for Infrastructure, H. Noor Shodiq Askandar, SE., MM., who urged all parties to sustain and indeed elevate their creativity even amid the pandemic. He further called for solidarity and a spirit of mutual cooperation (gotong royong) to support one another through these challenging times.
The socialisation concluded with an open dialogue among participants, followed by a closing prayer led by Dr. H. Achmad Syamsu Madyan, Lc., MA. (NAD/AL/PPS)
