Today, Wednesday, 3 June 2020, the Postgraduate Program held a Khatmil Qur’an (Qur’an completion recitation), marking the resumption of Postgraduate activities following approximately two weeks of Eid al-Fitr holiday. While administrative operations have recommenced, lectures continue to be delivered online, as the COVID-19 infection curve has yet to flatten.
Among the events cancelled due to the pandemic was the Halal Bihalal gathering of the entire Universitas Islam Malang academic community, which had originally been scheduled for today.

In observance of the recent Eid al-Fitr and as a substitute for activities that could not be held, the Postgraduate Program organised the Khatmil Qur’an in the Administration Room, Ali bin Abi Thalib Building, 2nd Floor. The recitation was attended by all Postgraduate Program leaders and staff.
The Khatmil Qur’an was facilitated by Dr. Akhmad Tabrani, M.Pd., Head of the Master’s Program in Indonesian Language Education, and was followed by remarks from Prof. Dr. M. Mas’ud Said, Ph.D., in his capacity as Director of the Postgraduate Program. In his address, he called upon all leaders and staff to uphold solidarity by strengthening communication, coordination, and execution.
The Khatmil commenced with the recitation of Ummul Kitab (Surah Al-Fatihah) by Dr. Moh. Afifullah, M.Pd., Head of the Master’s Program in Islamic Religious Education and Islamic Family Law, with prayers offered for health and strength so that the Postgraduate Program may continue to fulfil its mandate as a higher education institution and remain protected from COVID-19. The event was closed with a supplication led by the Head of the Master’s Program in Law, Dr. M. Muhibbin, M.Hum. (NAD/AL/PPS)
