JAKARTA – Director of Postgraduate Programs at Universitas Islam Malang (Unisma) and Independent Commissioner of Bank Jatim Tbk, Prof. M. Mas’ud Said, was one of the keynote speakers for one-day workshop organized by Infobank. This prestigious event took place at Le Meridien Hotel in Jakarta on Thursday, June 18, 2026.

On this occasion, Prof. Masud shared valuable insights on the governance of Regional Development Bank (BPD) in front of BPD commissioners, committee members, and corporate secretaries from various regions.

This workshop addressed a theme highly relevant to the challenges of modern banking: “Governance of BPD Board Members’ Performance, Resilience of Supervisory Functions, and Risk Mitigation Through AI.” In addition to Prof. Masud Said, the event featured a lineup of expert speakers and competent authorities, including:

  1. Defri Andri (Deputy Commissioner for Government Bank Supervision at OJK)
  2. Ryan Kiryanto (Commissioner of Bank Jakarta / Banking Analyst)
  3. Kurnia Hadi (Banking Expert)
  4. Eko B. Supriyanto (Infobank Media Group)

In their presentations, Prof. Masud Said and the speakers thoroughly discussed the topic “Resilient, Competitive, and Contributive: Governance and Support Systems: Lessons Learned from East Java Province.” This topic was one of four critical topics presented to BPD stakeholders.

The other three crucial topics presented to strengthen the functions of supervisory boards include: 1) detailed duties and responsibilities that supervisory boards must carry out, 2) Stakeholder Principles and Corporate Responsibility, and 4) 360-degree oversight for supervisory boards in the banking sector.

As part of ongoing educational efforts, each workshop participant received a free copy of the book titled “Regional Development Banks: Resilient, Competitive, and Contributing” by Prof. M. Mas’ud Said. This book is intended to serve as a practical guide for BPD management in navigating future economic dynamics. (AL/PPS)
