The Doctoral Program of Multicultural Islamic Education Held a Coordination to Improve Education Quality

Multicultural Islamic Education (PAI) Doctoral Program held a coordination in order to improve the quality of education. The coordination exchanges ideas to improve the quality of education both in the areas of teaching, research, and community service.

The meeting that was held in the Wahid Hasyim room, Ali Bin Abi Tholib building, 3rd floor, started at 09.30 was attended by the university leaders, Rector, Vice Rector 1, Director, vice  Director 1 Dr. H. Nur Fajar Arief, M.Pd., and lectures such as Dr. Hanief, M.Pd., and Dr. Dr. H. Dahlan Thamrin, M.Ag.

Graduate Program Director report to the Rector of Unisma related to the institutions and the Multicultural Islamic Education Doctoral Program.

Prof. Masud Said, MM., Ph.D. as the graduate director reported that the doctoral program has continued to improve since 2019 both in terms of the number of the doctoral graduates and incoming students.

Prof. Dr. H. Maskuri, M.Si, a professor at Multicultural Islamic Education Doctoral Program as well as the Rector of Unisma, suggested administrative improvements, both in services to students and in enforcing leadership decisions, both from the enforcement of general administration and financial administration.

Vice Rector 1, Prof. Junaidi Mistar, M.Pd., Ph.D gave a report related to institutional cooperation related to scholarships. Some scholarships, such as a – 5000 Doctoral scholarship program, must be refunded because they are not used for student activities.

For example, funds for a proposal seminar must be returned to the Ministry of Education and Culture / Ministry of Religion because the students who received it did not attend the proposal exam.

Prof. Yakub Cikusin, M.Si as the chairman of the foundation also helped to improve the quality of education in the Doctoral Program of Multicultural Islamic Education. One of the strategies is to conduct strict screening of prospective students for their academic abilities.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Djunaidi Ghony is always ready to motivate and encourage students to complete the doctoral program. Even he claims to be a goalkeeper who always attend his office hours unless he is unable to do so.

The meeting was closed by the  Rector, and at the same time he also encouraged everyone to work hand in hand to improve the quality of education of the Doctoral Program in Multicultural Islamic Education. (AL/PPS)
